Memorial services for Neuma Davidson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Melton officiating. Cremation has taken place.Neuma Davidson, age 100, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes. Neuma Barnes was born in Cainsville, Missouri, on February 16, 1911, to William and Pearl (Gardner) Barnes. At the age of four, the family moved to Wyoming and homesteaded 320 acres south of Gillette. She graduated from Campbell County High School in 1929 as valedictorian of her class. Neuma spent several years working for the Stockmen's Bank and later as legal secretary to attorneys Elwood Anderson and Tom Morgan. While working for Mr. Anderson, Neuma would use her shorthand to record court proceedings. She married Joe Lynde and had two sons, Ronald and Darryl. The couple later divorced. Neuma married W. D. (Pug) Davidson in 1947, and they spent 50 wonderful years together before his death from cancer in 1997. Together they worked hard to raise the boys. In 1951, they purchased the City Cleaners in Gillette and worked there together for 25 years until their retirement in 1976. They both enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. They spent winters in St. George, Utah until 1986, when they moved back to Gillette.She loved the outdoors and would spend many hours in the mountains with her husband when he went fishing. They both loved to travel and after retirement took many special trips. Neuma's great love of family was uppermost in her life. She enjoyed following her sons in any endeavor they tried. He grandchildren were very special to her. Neuma always loved whole family gatherings and ones with her many friends.Neuma is survived by her sons: Ronald (Virginia) Lynde and Darryl (Sharon) Lynde of Gillette, Wyoming; 7 grandchildren: Richard, Raymond, Randall, and Rex Lynde, Shad Keiper, Darren Lynde and Lyndy Williams; 15 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Loree Cates.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Neuma's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.Funeral Home:Gillette Memorial Chapel210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WYUS 82716
