Memorial service for Jack Eller will be at 1p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Gillette Memorial Chapel with Father Thomas Fiske of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Upon his wishes a private cremation has taken place.Jack Eller, age 50, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away with his beloved family at his side on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of a courageous battle with a rare blood disease known as amyliod.Jack Eugene Eller was born on December 18, 1960 the son of Robert C. and Carmelita "Carmen" (Taylor) Eller in Douglas, Wyoming. The family resided on the family ranch in Glendo, Wyoming where Jack spent his youth working the ranch and attending school. Jack also worked for the town of Glendo in the sanitation department and for various oil field companies in the Glendo area. From 1986-1988 he was employed with the Harley Hall Construction Company that had helped with the Prestrip and constructions. Jack began working part time for the Carter Mining Company in 1988. Jack met Jody in 1987 in Wright , Wyoming and they were married on September 3, 1988 in Jody's home town of Selby, South Dakota. The couple moved to Sturgis, South Dakota where Jack was again employed by the Harley-Hall Company working at the Golden Reward Mining Company in Lead, South Dakota. November 1990 the family moved to Gillette, Wyoming and Jack began full time employment with the Carter Mining Company as a production technician and shovel operator at the North Antelope/Rochelle Coal Mine that is now Powder River Coal Company. When Jack was not working he enjoyed being home, spending his time with his family, helping his sons putting car engines together. He enjoyed cooking for his children and they considered him a good cook. At night he would watch The Johnny Carson show that later became the Jay Leno show. During the summer, Jack would help his father on the ranch and the winter time was spent sledding with his children. A special time was before his daughter left for school he would blow her kisses. Jack loved his family with all his heart and soul and his family always came before himself. Jack is survived by his wife, Jody Eller; his two sons: Edward and Logan Eller, his two daughters: Amanda and Abigail Eller all of Gillette, Wyoming;parents, Robert and Carmen Eller of Glendo, Wyoming; one sister, Jill Eller; one brother, Mike Eller both of Glendo, Wyoming; several aunts and uncles. nephews, one niece and cousins.He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Eller in March of 2000, grandparents; father-in-law, Edward Greger; brother-in-law, Alan Greger; sister-in-law, Kay Kosters; aunt, Leora, uncle, Eddie and cousin, Jimmy.A memorial has been established in Jack's name and can be sent to the Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 W. 5th St. Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences may also be sent via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.
