Funeral service for Charles "Bud" Gearhart will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gordon Harper of Vineyard Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.Bud Gearhart, age 77, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Monday, February 28, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Bud Gearhart was born on August 20, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland the son of George and Anna Louise (Curtain) Gearhart. Upon finishing school, he entered into the United States Marines. After his discharge he then ventured to Wyoming, where he worked on various ranches and rode bulls. But he was truly in his glory when he was in the mountains on his horse Dew. He had three daughters: Lynn, Bonnie and Lorna. Bud met and married the love of his life Beverly Smith. Together they raised four children: Steve, Gary, Ron and Rhonda. Bud started his career in Carlin Gold Mine in Carlin, Nevada and then moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he was employed at the Cordero Coal Mine. Where he worked for twenty years without absence as a heavy equipment operator/trainer where he had advanced to safety coordinator. When he retired from Cordero he found himself working for the state in Fort Bridger, Wyoming and then was employed at various businesses for fun. Bud enjoyed playing softball, racquetball, fishing, and rodeos. He made time to watch all of his kids in their sports activities. Sunday's were always left open to watch the Denver Broncos. Later on he enjoyed watching the grandchildren participate in all of their activities. Grandpa always enjoyed getting the family together, celebrating birthday's or one of our world famous BBQ's. Bud is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverly Gearhart of Gillette, Wyoming; three sons: Steven, Ron and Gary (Turby) Gearhart, daughters: Rhonda (Chuck) Rogen, Lynn (Schuyler) Del Camp, Lorna (Rob) Abel all of Gillette, Wyoming and Bonnie Rejada of Pocatello, Idaho; ten grandchildren: Misty, Steve, Shane, Kassidy, Casey, Kelby, Kaleb, Taylor, Tanner, and Terynn all of Gillette, Wyoming; four brothers: Al (Helen) Gearhart, Bob (Charlie) Gearhart, Dennis Gearhart, and Tom (Cathy) Gearhart; six sisters: Dorothy (Buster)Bell, Marie Gearhart, Janie Phiefer, Caroll (Jess) Gray, Phyllis (Doug) Ramsey, and Mary Lou (Bill) Liebee; numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Bud's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.Funeral Home:Gillette Memorial Chapel210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WYUS 82716
