Alpha D Miller

Memorial service for Alpha Miller will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming with Sister Carol Metchenberg as officiant.Alpha Miller, age 86 passed away February 20, 2011 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Alpha D. Miller was born June 8, 1924 the daughter of Lawrence and Elsa (Yost) Domer in Cook County, Minnesota. The family moved to Niles, Michigan where Alpha attended school, graduating in 1942.She married James Miller, September 3, 1945 and they moved to California and then Arizona where they raised their family. After their children were raised they became training managers for the Motel 6 Company, traveling and residing in Texas and Kansas. They retired in Iowa in 1979 and moved to Fonda, Iowa to be near their youngest daughter Linda and her family. In 1989 they sold their home in Iowa and moved to Gillette to be close to their daughter Cheryl and family.Alpha enjoyed being involved with her grandchildren activities, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her eyes. Alpha was a good cook and loved to prepare meals for family and friends. She liked to play bingo, trips to Deadwood, traveling, and playing cards and board games. Most of all she enjoyed just being with her family.James passed away in 1997, and for the past seven years Alpha has resided at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home.Alpha is survived by her daughters, Cheryl ( Larry) Archer of Gillette, WY; Linda (Arnold) Menke of Fonda, IA; sister, Phyllis Selge of Niles, MI; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grand children and two great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Deborah and two brothers Verlin Domer and Warren Domer.A memorial has been established in Alpha's name.
