Funeral mass for Sam Garcia will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Tim Martinson officiating.Sam Garcia, age 57, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of heart failure.Sam Garcia was born on May 1, 1953 in Lamar, Colorado the son of Sam and DeIval (Jones) Garcia. He was raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming, graduating from Rock Springs High School in 1971. Sam married Trudy Turcato in Coalville, Utah on June 23, 1972. He received a kidney from his mother on July 27, 1976. Sam decided to return to college and graduated from the University of Wyoming in May, 1985, with a degree in education. Sam taught art at several Campbell County Schools and was an accomplished artist. He loved hanging out with his son's and grandchildren, always attending their school activities and sporting events. Sam especially loved to watch them play soccer. He loved to go camping and hunting. Sam loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.Sam is survived by his wife, Trudy Garcia of Gillette, Wyoming; sons: Stacey (Tiffani) Garcia, Sammy (Bobbie) Garcia, Saber and Spencer (Tara) Garcia all of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren: Trevor, JaCoby, Eleana and Jude; father, Sam (Francis) Garcia of Bosque, New Mexico; brother, Gilbert (Deneise) Garcia of Rock Springs, Wyoming and sister, Kelly Garcia of Cheyenne, Wyoming.He was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Carolyn.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Sam's name in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or condolences via the internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com.Funeral Home:Gillette Memorial Chapel210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WYUS 82716
