Memorial services for Gary D. Rhodd will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wes Smith of New Life Wesleyan Church officiating.Mr. Rhodd, age 48, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Close To Home Hospice Hospitality House after a hard battle with cancer.Gary Dean Rhodd was born on May 31, 1962, Gillette, Wyoming, the son of Leland Rhodd and Madelyn Stuber. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1980. Gary was in the Air Force, stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He attended college in Denver, Colorado. He married Tonia Jordt in Denver, on July 1, 1988. Three children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. Gary was a wonderful father and his children were the center of his life. He always participated in all of their sports and activities. Gary and his children spent many happy days Geocaching and he was the president of the Geocaching Wyoming Association. Gary and his family spent many weekends at Pine Haven, camping, boating and fishing. He and his boys were yearly participants of the Volk's march at Crazy Horse, South Dakota. He was also an avid sports fan; the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies were his favorites.Gary is survived by his children: Christopher Rhodd of Sheridan, Wyoming, Mathew Rhodd and FaithAnn Rhodd; mother Madelyn Stuber; step brother, Eddie Stuber all of Gillette, Wyoming; step sisters: Jolita Stuber Scheinling and Kathy Fhelmann both of Billings, Montana; niece, Jessica Filcaske of Gillette, Wyoming and several aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, step father, Edward Stuber and beloved grandparents: Orville and Dena Jones.Donations are suggested to benefit the Close To Home Hospice Hospitality House.
