Mary Eileen Walport

Mass of the Christian burial for Eileen Walport will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Father Karl Millis and Father Tim Martinson as celebrants. Burial will be 3:30 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2010 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Casper, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home with a vigil service and rosary at 7:00 p.m.Eileen Walport age 75, of Gillette, Wyoming, went to be with our Lord after a long illness, January 3, 2011 in Aurora, Colorado. Mary Eileen Walport was born April 11, 1935, the daughter of Joseph A. and Alice (Gallager) Vaughn in Austin, Minnesota. She attended school and graduated from High School in Austin in 1953. Eileen married Jim Walport on June 18, 1964. They have called Gillette their home since 1982.She was employed as a bookkeeper for Wyoming Automotive from 1965 thru 1976. Eileen was an active member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church as well as The Council of Catholic Woman. Eileen enjoyed knitting/crocheting and even attempted sewing quilts. She loved to travel with Jim in their motor home, especially trips to Reno and Deadwood. Eileen loved to gamble but never with more then she could afford to lose. Eileen is survived by her husband Jim Walport of Gillette, WY; sons, Andrew Walport of Lander, WY; Patrick and family of Gillette, WY; brother, Ken (Lavonne) Vaughn of Austin, MN; as well as numerous cousins and friends..She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Don and Dale Vaughn.A memorial has been established to benefit the Knights of Columbus.
