A memorial service for Ellwood Buller will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2010 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Buller, age 90, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming. Ellwood was born on June 8, 1920 in Menno, South Dakota, the son of John and Edna (Kemp) Buller. Ellwood and his brother, Wallace, grew up in Hot Springs, South Dakota. A pivotal date in Ellwood's life was August 10, 1941 when he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. This began Ellwood's lifelong commitment to preaching and teaching the good news of the Bible for his God, Jehovah. He married his first wife, Adah, on January 8, 1948. The two of them attended the 23rd class of Gilead, the missionary school of Jehovah's Witnesses, in 1954. They were assigned as regular pioneers, full time ministers, to Gillette Wyoming. Ellwood and Adah worked tirelessly to teach people the wonderful truths of God's word. Ellwood also enjoyed model trains, wood working and even took flying lessons. He loved his cats, even taking in the neighborhood strays. In 1999, Ellwood lost his beloved wife of 51 years, Adah. On Oct, 28, 2000, Mercedes Longerbone became Mercedes Buller and Ellwood found a new love of his life, his second wife. He adored Mercedes and the two of them also worked tirelessly as pioneers, full time ministers. Ellwood also acquired something else with his marriage to Mercedes. He fondly said, "Now I have children of my own", referring to Julie and Joel, Mercedes two children. Ellwood is survived by his daughter, Julie and husband Karl Bergh of Jamestown, North Dakota; son, Joel Longerbone and his wife Maria and his grandson, Brandon, of Prior Lake, Minnesota; and many he called his brothers and sisters that he shared his love of the Bible with. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adah; his brother, Wallace; his second wife, Mercedes. Ellwood's strong faith and hope was in the resurrection spoken of in the Bible and the time when he will see many brought back from the grave and be brought back himself.
