Doris Geer, age 81, of Gillette, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 25, 2010 from natural causes. At her request there are no services planned at this time. Doris was born November 24, 1929 in rural Campbell County the daughter of Virgil and Ivy (Starret) Snyder. Doris attended rural elementary schools in Campbell County and later attended Campbell County High School. Upon her graduation she enrolled in beauty school. After earning her cosmetology certificate she married Newt Geer in Gillette. The couple had two children and made their home in Lander, they later divorced. Doris was a librarian many years at the Freemont County Public Library. Over this time she earned an associate degree from Central Wyoming College in Riverton. In 1995 Doris retired and returned to Gillette where she has resided since.An award winning artist, Doris created several beautiful oil and pastel paintings. She loved the outdoors and would spend as much time as she could at her family homestead near Weston, Wyoming. Doris was always interested in total body wellness and became very knowledgeable about the ways of Holistic Healing.She is survived by her son, Clint Geer of Clovis, California and daughter Jan Laatsch of Gillette; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother Stanly Snyder of Hamilton, Montana; as well as several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Bill Snyder.Condolences can be sent in Doris' name in care of Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716 or on the internet at www.walkerfuneralgillette.com.Funeral Home:Walker Funeral Home410 Medical Arts CourtGillette, WYUS 82716
