Funeral services for Welma Boyle, age 76, of Gillette, Wyoming, will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Morrison of the Church at the Barn officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillette-Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. A visitation will take place one hour prior to service time on Thursday. Welma Jean Boyle went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2010 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home, with all her children by her side. Welma was born January 27, 1934, the daughter of Guy and Loraine Wilkerson in Hopkins County, Kentucky. She grew up in White City and Mortons Gap, Kentucky and graduated from Mortons Gap High School in 1952. She married Hall William Boyle in 1952 and after living in several different states including South Dakota, Kentucky and Minnesota, they finally settled in Draper, South Dakota where they farmed and raised five children. In 1977 Welma went back to school and received an Office Technician Certificate and then began working for the state of South Dakota in Pierre. She began work as a data encoder and later worked as a telecommunications operator. Welma retired from her job with the state of South Dakota in 2002. She remained in Pierre, South Dakota until 2009 when she moved to Gillette, Wyoming. Welma enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and caring for her house plants. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and with her friends. Welma is survived by her children: Greg (Jackie) Boyle of Draper, South Dakota; Gary ( Gaylene Spence)Boyle of Gillette, WY; Tony (Judy) Boyle of Sturgis, MI; Bonny (Doug) Fitch of Gillette, WY; Marie Boyle of Gillette, WY; Margie Boyle of Pierre, SD; her siblings, Odie Wilkerson of Akron, OH; Nell Campbell-Grubbs of Hanson, KY; Sarah Walker of Madisonville, KY; Helen Vickery of Henderson, TN; and Sue Moore of Morton?s Gap, KY; 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and her dearest friends Dory and Keith McGee of Pierre, SD. She is joined in heaven by her parents, Guy and Loraine Wilkerson, siblings, Thomas Wilkerson, Charles Wilkerson, Minnie Adams and grandson, Joseph Boyle. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Welma's name to benefit the Fort Pierre, SD Senior Center, delivered meal program.
