Verne Geer passed away April 21, 2010 at his home in Gillette, WY. Cremation has taken place, no services are planned at this time. Vernes ashes will be spread at a later date in Illinois and Wyoming. Verne Eugene Geer was born June 3, 1927 to Harlen and Mary (Bedenbinder) Geer in Prairie City, Illinois. He married Rose McCoy July 11, 1970. Verne worked for the City of Macomb, Illinois Water Department for many years before moving to Gillette in 1976 where he worked for Gillettes Water Department as well as Wackenhut Security. He worked for Kerr McGee Jacobs Ranch Coal Mine for 10 years before retiring. He enjoyed fixing and building clocks and woodworking. Verne also spent a lot of time restoring his 1962 Volkswagon and loved collecting anything John Deere. Verne is survived by his wife Rose of Gillette, WY; sons, David (Linda) Geer of New London, IA; Joseph Geer of Willaimsville, MO; Audie Reed of Bushnell, IL; daughters, Anita Reed (Danny) Bullock of Gilbertsville, KY; Trina Reed Carrillo of Gillette, WY; Angie Reed (Brett) Tucker of Fort Collins, CO; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
