Memorial service for Leroy Gorder will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Family Life Church with Pastor Marty Crump officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. LeRoy Jay Gorder passed away April 17, 2010 at home surrounded by family and friends following a long battle with cancer. LeRoy was born March 31, 1957 in Williston, ND to OrlinBudand Vada (Wabschall) Gorder. His early years were spent in Tioga, ND. In 1968 he moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he attended school and lived until his death. LeRoy was employed in the oil and methane gas industry working for several different companies over the years. His last employer was Northland Power. Throughout his life he enjoyed many diverse activities. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He liked to take trips to Deadwood, and motorcycle rides through Spearfish Canyon. He was a friend of Bill W. and was very proud of his sobriety. He was a friend to many and a stranger to few. LeRoy is survived by his closest friend, Gina Davis; his greatest gift of all, his loving daughter, Amanda (Devon) Tutor and grandson Gabriel; step-son, Eric Skinner; sister, Orlinda (Steve) Kern of Las Cruces, NM; brother, Ed (Cathi) Gorder of Gillette, WY; step-brothers, Pat and Daryl Ethier and step-sister Tammy Hanson of Williston, ND; several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. He will be missed by his many friends as well. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, and step-sister Geraldine Stilley. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Campbell County Hospice, especially Daniel, Jenny, Gerri and Debbie.
