Donna Smith

Funeral service for Donna Arlene Smith, age 73, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, WY with Pastor Chris Carr of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Gillette, WY. Visitation will be 4:00 7:00 p.m., Thursday March 11, 2010 at Walker Funeral Home. Donna A. Smith of Gillette, Wyoming entered into heaven on Monday, March 8, 2010 as a result of an auto accident Donna was born July 22, 1936 to Ervin and Rowine (Murray) Reichman in Oshkosh, Nebraska. She graduated from High School in Chappell, Nebraska. She married Burton Smith on May 21, 1954 and was blessed with four children. Shortly after their marriage Donna and Burt lived in Georgia and Texas while Burt served in the United States Army. They lived in Nebraska and Colorado before moving to Newcastle, WY where Donna worked for the city of Newcastle. In 1975 they moved to Gillette where Donna worked for Carter Mining, Foster Lumber and drove for Hertz and Avis Car Rentals. Donna had a very full life; she enjoyed many years of bowling, and traveled to many bowling tournaments across the country. She enjoyed traveling to visit her children and grandchildren and volunteering in the community. She is survived by her loving children; daughter, Debra (Randy) Caillier of Sugar Hill, GA; sons, Daryl Smith of Gillette, WY; Doug (Becky) Smith of Gillette, WY; daughter Linda (Tom) Martin of Salina, KS; Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Elaine (Emil) Weyerts of Gurley, NE; Verla Peters of Littleton, CO; Karen Witt of Parker, CO; one brother, Merle (Bev) Reichman of Julesburg, CO; sister-in-law, Helen Clark of Chappell, NE; and a very special friend, Leo Skinner of Gillette, WY. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and husband of 41 years Burt Smith. Memorials are suggested to benefit Close to Home Hospice Hospitality House in Gillette, WY.
