Joyce Banks

Joyce Marie Banks, age 74, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family celebration of Joyces life at a later date. Joyce was born October 25, 1934 the daughter of Dan and Marie (McGhee) Burnside in Greybull, Wyoming. She attended school and graduated from high school in Greybull. It was also in Greybull where Joyce met her husband Joe Banks. They would later marry in Billings, Montana. Joyce attended Beauty College in Billings but found her true calling as a wife and mother. Joes line of work took the couple to Baker, Montana; Houston, Texas; and finally to Gillette, Wyoming where they settled to raise their family in 1958. Joyce was a member of the Gillette Church of Christ. While her health was good she loved to travel but nothing gave Joyce more enjoyment in life then her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Raising her family was both her career and her favorite pastime. Joyce will be missed by all that knew her but most of all she will be dearly missed by the family she dedicated her life to. Joyce is survived by her husband Joe Banks of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter Julia Bugbee and her husband Les of Tuscan, Arizona; sons Jack Banks and his wife Kerrie of Wright, Wyoming; and Jerry Banks of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren Sean Bugbee of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Larissa Bugbee of Tucson, Arizona; Micah Bugbee of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Jordan Banks, Jonna Banks, Josee Banks, Jori Banks, and Shawna Banks all of Gillette, Wyoming; and great grandchildren Zackary, Jake, and Morgan Bugbee of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Marie Burnside; brother Jim Burnside; and three of her children Joel, Janet, and Jimmy Banks. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Joyces name.
