Rowland Limberhand Harstad

Memorial services for Rowland Limberhand Harstad will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Richard Morrow officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at the Rockpile Community Center Rowland Limberhand Harstad, age 46, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 from a major heart attack. Rowland was born February 17, 1963 in Lame Deer, Montana a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. He was raised from the age of seven by John and Eleanor (Freier) Harstad on a big ranch in Rosebud, Montana. With his adopted family Rowland helped tend the horses and cattle they raised on the ranch. Rowland attended school in Rosebud and graduated from high school there before going on to become a nationally certified crane operator in the field of construction. In 1989 Rowland married Teresa Harstad and together they had three children. The couple would later divorce and in August of 2004 he married Crystall Buseman. As a construction crane operator Rowlands job took him and Crystall through many states including Iowa, Montana, Washington and finally Wyoming. Rowland was a big NASCAR fan who loved to watch the races and collect the NASCAR memorabilia. Along with NASCAR he was also a fan of the Professional Bull Riders Tour. Rowland was also very proud of his Native American Heritage. He is survived by his wife Crystall Limberhand Harstad of Gillette, Wyoming; daughters, Nicki Harstad of Idaho; Jessica Harstad of Denver, Colorado; son, Sean Limberhand of Denver, Colorado; brother, Monte Harstad of Pryer, Montana; sister, Rubina of Kansas; stepfather, John Neurohr and mother Eleanor Neurohr of Miles City, Montana; and granddaughter Ariana. Rowland was preceded in death by his father John Harstad and sisters, Peggy Harstad and Linda Ottun. A memorial has been established in Rowlands name.
