Paul 'Harold' Benson

Memorial service for Paul Harold Benson will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Ruffs Bar & Grill, Rozet, Wyoming with Don Watt officiating. Paul Harold Benson age 78, passed away Sunday May 31, 2009 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Gillette, Wyoming. Paul was born October 20, 1930 to F. Rudolph and Evelyn (Anderson) Benson at their home in Greenleaf township in Meeker County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Beckville Lutheran Church. Like most farm children of his era, he attended a one room country school for grades one thru eighth. Instead of high school he attended the Institute of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota. He was also in the Navel Reserves. He worked a variety of jobs in his adult life including farming for 20 years, truck driver, road construction and carpentry. He moved to Wyoming in 1984 then met a beautiful little girl named Tara with a mom named Dee. He worked in the oil patch until his retirement. After retiring he helped with the family business Hoppers Bar in Moorcroft, Wyoming. He was an active member of the 40 and 8 club and American Legion Post 25. Paul enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as golfing, bowling and playing softball. He was also a big Minnesota Vikings fan. Paul is survived by his special friend the love of his life, Dee Queen of Moorcroft, WY; sons, Chuck (Linda)Benson of Hutchinson, MN; Nick Benson of Litchfield, MN; daughters, Becky McCarty of Woodbury, MN; Jayna (Luis) Larrea of Loretto, MN; Holly Benson:(Matt Potts) of Bloomington, MN; Tara (Cody) Wineteer of Moorcroft, WY; grandchildren, Chadd, Bennie, Justin, & Lillia Benson, Adam & Alayna Arveson, Brittany & Sean McCarty and Nicole Wineteer; great grandchildren Madelyn, Patrick, & Amelia Benson; brothers,Vernon (Ila) Benson of Litchfield, MN; Philip (Barb) Benson of Litchfield, MN; sisters, Connie (John) Thar of Litchfield, MN; Bea Street of Coon Rapids, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and Pebbles too. A memorial service will be held Sunday June 7, 2009 in Beckville, MN
