A Memorial Service for Lloyd A. Eliason will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church, Gillette, Wyoming with Reverend Dan Holden officiating. Lloyd A. Eliason, son of Algot Gothard and Inez (Horton) Eliason was born June 29, 1940 on the farm at Lantry, SD. He passed away April 28, 2009 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming at the age of 68. Lloyd was raised in Lantry and Eagle Butte, SD. He attended school at Lantry Elementary until the 6th grade and moved to Eagle Butte where he graduated from high school. Lloyd married Carlene Exe and they had 3 sons, they later divorced. He was then united in marriage to Florence Tibbs on May 12, 1979. They lived in Eagle Butte until June 1981 when they moved to Gillette. Lloyd and Florence had three sons. Lloyd worked for Bynum and Doris Downing from the time he graduated from high school until 1962, when he moved to Rapid City, SD. In Rapid City, Lloyd worked for Rushmore Homes, Slaughter Electric, several contractors, and his own construction business, Lloyds Remodeling and Construction. In 1981 Lloyd and Florence moved to Gillette. In Gillette he worked for Davis Electric, Sage Electric, Mike Baldwin, Donny Percifield Construction, and Pioneer Manor Nursing Home. He retired in 2002. Lloyd was an avid fisherman. He loved fishing at Orman and Oahe Dams in SD with his fishing buddy Mike Baldwin from Sturgis. Lloyd also enjoyed woodworking, making beautiful furniture for his home and many unique yard ornaments. He liked to hunt deer and birds with his friends. Lloyd was member of the Handyman Club of America. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite driver was Mark Martin who he got to see win on April 19th. Grateful for having shared his life are his beloved wife Florence of Gillette; sons, Carl A. (Joan) Eliason, Grand Island, NE; Darin L. (Shelly) Eliason, Gillette, WY; Dale J. (Jacinta) Eliason, Gillette WY; Brett A. Eliason, Rawlins, WY; Travis L. Eliason, Gillette, WY; grandchildren, Issac, Lydia, Brandi, Bradley, Danica, Alex, Alysha, Dale Jr., Zane, Garcia and Marlene; brothers, Myron Eliason, Belle Fourche, SD; Eldon Eliason, Salix, IA; Floyd (Maggie) Eliason, Mitchell, SD; Harvey (Beverly) Eliason, Salix, IA.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Zane, and two sister-in-laws, Betty Eliason and Lola Eliason. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lloyds name its use to be determined at a later date.
