Funeral service for Audrey Heptner will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Family Life Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Marty Crump officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Rozet, Wyoming. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Walker Funeral Home. Audrey Heptner, long time Campbell County resident died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at her home of natural causes. Audrey was born November 16, 1935; the daughter of Chris and Adeline (Schneider) Robing, she was the oldest of six children. Audrey attended rural school and graduated Campbell County High School in 1954, during high school she worked for Conleys Caf. Following graduation she was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone for 10-15 years transferring from Gillette to Newcastle and then to Casper, Wyoming. She married Jerry Ridenour who died in a farming accident in 1963. She met Darrell Heptner and they were married in Gillette, Wyoming June 10, 1966. They made their home on the Heptner ranch near Rozet, Wyoming. Audrey helped Darrell on the ranch, raising sheep and cattle and began to drive school bus which she continued to do for thirty five years. She was a member of Royal Neighbors. Audrey enjoyed playing darts on the Rozet Dart League, bowling, ceramics, reading the country magazines. She loved her plants and garden and had a green thumb. Audrey loved to spend time with all her family. Audrey is survived by her husband Darrell of forty two years; daughters, Mary Kay (John) Jones, Rozet, Wyoming; Karri Dee Isham, Vernon, Connecticut; Corina (Neil) Allen, of Gillette, Wyoming; four grandchildren, Dale Rockwell, Paula Gardner, Steve Jones, Hank Jones and seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, David (Sheila) Robing, of Sundance, Wyoming; William (Caroline) Robing, of Gillette, Wyoming; three sisters, Laurel (Russ) Koening, of Commerce City, Colorado; Karen (Dan) Smallwood, of Casper, Wyoming; Shirley Blackrose, of Gillette, Wyoming; two aunts and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial has been established in Audreys name and its use will be designated at a later date.
