Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Gloria M. Lara, 56, a longtime resident of Gillette, at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Father Philip Vaske as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at the Gillette, Mount Pisgah Cemetery, with a luncheon following at the Cemetery Shelter. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2008, a vigil/rosary service will follow at 7 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Gloria Lara passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital after complication from diabetes. She was born March 15, 1952 in Gillette, Wyoming to Benerito and Rose (Jaramillo) Lara. She was raised in Gillette and worked for The Goings Hotel for several years prior to moving onto other endeavors. Gloria was an avid Bingo player and loved home cooked meals on the holidays and playing cards. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Briona and Gabriel. She is survived by one daughter; Rachelle Ginny, (Brent) Tislau of Gillette, Wyoming; two grandchildren; Briona & Gabriel Tislau of Gillette, Wyoming; Five sisters, Glenda (Leo) Valencia, of San Bernadino, California; Betty (Bill) Clouse of Gillette, Wyoming; Dixie Schiefer of Rochford, South Dakota, Vickie (Kerry) Barker of Evansville, Wyoming; Brenda (Joe) LaVallie of Gillette, Wyoming; four brothers, Benny (Connie) Lara of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Donnie, Bobby and Steve Lara all of Gillette, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents Celina and Adon Jaramillo, Ramon and Pilar Lara, mother and father, Benerito and Rose Lara, one brother, William K. Lara, one sister, Peggy S. Lara, two nieces and two nephews, and numerous aunts and uncles. A memorial has been established in Glorias name to benefit her grandchildren and donations may be sent in care of the Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, Wyoming 82716.
