Funeral services for Harvey R. Chamberlain will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Walker Funeral Home with Father Philip Vaske of the St. Matthew's Catholic Church officiating.Upon his request a private cremation service has taken place and a scattering of his cremains will be at a later date.Harvey Chamberlain age 66, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008 of natural causes at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital.Harvey Ronald Chamberlain was born on July 12, 1941 the son of Lawrence and Lillian (Christopherson) Chamberlain in Hancock, Minnesota.Harvey was raised and educated in Minnesota. He married Sharon Benson on May 29, 1968. They resided for a short while in Montana before moving to Gillette where Harvey was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Campbell County Road and Bridge for over thirty years. He loved the outdoors and from Memorial Day to Labor Day every year, Harvey and his wife Sharon would spend every other week camping at the Spearfish Campground. At the campground they would go fishing, four wheeling, going to Deadwood and visiting their good friends at the campground. Both Harvey and Sharon spent many summers camping at Sand Creek, where Harvey called himself the unofficial Mayor of Sand Creek. He enjoyed exploring the back roads and trails in the Black Hills on his four wheeler. He was a talented artist and loved puttering in his work room and garage. If he had been born one hundred years ago he would have been a famous inventor.Harvey is survived by his wife, Sharon Chamberlain of Gillette, Wyoming; two sons, Jason and Tom Chamberlain also of Gillette, Wyoming; two brothers, Jerry Chamberlain of Arkansas and George Chamberlain of Nebraska; three brothers in law, Dell Benson, Leonard Benson and Marv Krussow and sister in law Paula Krussow, many nieces and nephews and nine grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.A memorial has been established in Harvey's name and memorials or condolences may be sent to the Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet www.walkerfuneralgillette.com
