Funeral services for Lois Okray, of Gillette will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Gillette, with Pastor Mark Jervis officiating. Interment will follow in Gillette's Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 p.m.Mrs. Okray died on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Lois Darleen was born on February 29, 1920, the daughter of Burt and Mary (Bellens) Harrod in Gillette, Wyoming. She was raised and educated in Gillette, graduating from Campbell County High School in 1938. Upon her graduation, Lois attended Normal Training. She taught briefly in Wyoming and New Mexico. On August 17, 1942 Lois married Maurice Okray in New Mexico. Maurice was in the service and he was stationed overseas, so Lois returned home to Gillette and made the couples home here, where they have resided since. Lois's primary focus was her family and it was reflected in her dedication to them, always working in their home and doing whatever she could for her husband and her children.Lois was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was and avid knitter and crotchetier, making countless potholders, doilies and afghans. Lois was known for her homemade candy she prepared at Christmas time, it was looked forward to by many. Lois always made sure she had candy and sweets on hand for her grandchildren, when visiting they would head straight to the corner in which they were stored.Lois will be greatly missed by her son, Mickey and his wife Sherry and their children: Darrell and his wife Tammy and Randy and his wife Wendy all of Gillette; daughter, Beverly Tolman and her husband Guy of Newcastle, Wyoming and their children: Mark and his wife Liz of Brookings, S.D. and Tanya and her husband Jack Seeds of Douglas, Wyoming; 9 great-grandchildren; one sister Harriett Hamilton of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho as well as numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to benefit the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation's Hospice House.
