Raymond Bell

Memorial services for Raymond Bell will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Hospital Chaplin Ralph Reed officiating. Raymond Earl Bell, age 72, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.Ray Bell was born on August 17, 1935 in Ralston, Oklahoma the son of Vida Bell. He lived with his grandparents, William Thomas and Maude Ethel Bell. Ray attended school in Spring Creek, Union Valley and Pawnee High School in Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army in Colorado and Hawaii from February 1958 to May 1960. On February 3, 1961, he married Zelma Poulter in El Dorado, Kansas. He worked for Flint Engineering and was transferred to Gillette, Wyoming from Kansas in 1969. Ray worked for Flint for 38 years, retiring on September 27, 1998. He then worked for Record John Deere until his death. Ray's favorite pastimes included visiting with friends, going to yard sales, gardening and decorating his yard for the holidays. He won numerous awards for his Christmas decorations over the years. Ray will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.Ray is survived by son, James (Wanda) W. Poulter of Latham, Kansas; two daughters: Judy (Lonnie) Lawrence of Leon, Kansas and Gracie (Larry) Walter of Gillette, Wyoming; five brothers, three sisters, nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife of forty four years, mother, daughter, Christine Terrel and several aunts and uncles.In lieu of flower's donations are suggested in Ray's name to the charity of one's choice.
