Mass of Christian Burial for James I. Butler will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Father Philip Vaske officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.James Ira Butler, age 64, of Buffalo, Wyoming where he was a resident of the Veterans Home for the past 15 years due to health complications, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008 in Buffalo at the Veterans Home of natural causes.James Butler was born on July 7, 1943 the son of Charles and Letha (Thompson) Butler in Gillette, Wyoming. He was raised and educated in Gillette, graduating from Campbell County High School. He served in the United States Navy in the early 1960's. James was an incredible chef, worked with leather creating remarkable items in leather, he was also a painter and created ceramics. He was an avid fisherman and a pool player. James is survived by his brothers: Charles (Jackie) Butler of Spearfish, South Dakota and Tommie (Connie) Butler of Gillette, Wyoming; sister Jane (Terry) Wilkerson of Lovell, Wyoming; nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents.In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Veterans Home, 700 Veterans Lane, Buffalo, Wyoming 82834.
