Alice Wright, age 83, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away early Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.Alice and her twin sister, Mary Christine "Mickey" were born on January 29, 1925, the daughters of Roy and Alice (Busch) Wilson in Waco, Texas. In June 1943, Alice married the love of her life, Charles Hubert Cruse and together they had four children, one son and three daughters. Alice was a uniquely talented soul and her love of God's creation was expressed in several ways. She had a beautiful alto voice, loved to sing, play the piano, organ and the autoharp. Not only was she a gifted artist, but was a poet and wrote notebooks full of original poetry; some of which were published by the Waco Poetry Club. She was a gifted with a bright mind, and wonderful vocabulary that stood her will in her poetical musings. Alice had a magnetic personality that drew people to her and a grand sense of humor which helped her survived the surprises that life threw her way. She was a gracious friend, who was very proud of her Southern roots. Her faith in Jesus Christ never wavered throughout the trials that life lay before her, and her faith was a great comfort to her in her last days. Throughout her life of moving to where the jobs were for Charles, Alice's heart was always in Waco. Following his death in 1973, Alice retuned to Texas and met her later-in-life companion and husband, Carroll Wright. Alice and Carroll resided in Waco until his death in 1995. As her health began to falter, Alice moved from Texas to Gillette, Wyoming in 2001, to be closer to her daughter, Gail Cruse, and to live in closer proximity to all her children.Alice is survived by her son, Charles Cruse, Jr. of Aberdeen, South Dakota; 3 daughters: Linnea Callahan of Waterloo, Nebraska, Gail Cruse of Gillette, Wyoming and Holly Klier of Missoula, Montana; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alice, brother, Roy Wilson, Jr., sister, Bessie Hebel, both husbands: Charles and Carroll and a granddaughter, Heather Nieuwenhuis.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Alice's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet www.stevensonwilson.com.
