Funeral services for Ronald L. Hecht will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Jervis officiating. Burial will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.Ronald L. Hecht, age 60, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Friday, February 01, 2008 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital from complications from a long term illness.Ron Hecht was born on November 20, 1947 the son of Lester C. and Shirley A. (Howell) Hecht in Sterling, Colorado. He had most of his schooling in Sterling and went to the Community College in Sterling for a year before he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country for 6 years with 1 year being spent in Viet Nam. Ron got an honorable discharge and then moved to the mountains of Colorado. This is where he met his best friend and married Shirley Pawlowski on July 2, 1974. He lived in Granby and worked various construction jobs and ran a gas station until his son was born in 1975. Ron moved to Breckenridge, Colorado and worked as a contractor building ski lodges. He then went to work for the City of Breckenridge as a heavy equipment operator. Ron moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1981 so his son could grow up knowing his grandparents. He went to work for the City of Gillette in the street department and later transferred into the building inspection department. The thing he enjoyed the most was his family. Ron's 3 granddaughters were the best thing that ever happened to him and he finally got his "daughter"(in-law) he always wanted. He was an avid outdoors person. Ron loved hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and most of all gold mining.Ron is survived by his wife, Shirley K. Hecht of Gillette, Wyoming; son, Willy (Kristina) Hecht; mother, Shirley A. Hecht; 3 granddaughters: Kaycee, Katelynn and Brittney Hecht all of Gillette, Wyoming; sisters: Janice Howlett of Netter, Georgia and Sharon Draper of Gillette, Wyoming.He was preceded in death by his father, Lester C.
