A memorial service for Tess Oliver will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Jervis of the 1st Baptist Church officiating.Tess Oliver, age 50, of Gillette, Wyoming died unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital.Tess was born on September 11, 1957 in Spangler, Pennsylvania the daughter of Leo Sr. and Norma (Stiffler) Buterbaugh. She was raised in Commodore, Pennsylvania and graduated form Purchase Line High School in Purchase Line, Pennsylvania in 1975. After graduation she married Arnold Lewis and they had two children: Mary and Christopher. They later divorced. In 1985 she came to Glenrock, Wyoming to visit family and decided to stay in Wyoming. On October 3, 1987 she married Richard Oliver. They made their home in Glenrock and then moved to Worland and finally settled in Gillette in 1994. Tess enjoyed being at home, taking care of the home but also enjoyed working at several motor sports dealerships in Gillette as the parts person and sales person. She also worked at Mini Mart. Tess enjoyed meeting new people and working with the public. Recently she and her husband opened a new shop where she looked forward to meeting new and previous customers. Tess enjoyed gardening, yard work, the outdoors, the mountains, and loved snomobiling until a knee injury forced her to quit. She also enjoyed shooting darts and being on winning teams at local, state and national tournaments.Tess is survived by her husband, Richard Oliver of Gillette, Wyoming; parents: Leo Sr. and Norma Buterbaugh of Commodore, Pennsylvania; daughter, Mary Lewis of Syracuse, New York; son, Christopher Lewis of Indiana, Pennsylvania; special daughter, Heather Green of Gillette, Wyoming; granddaughters: Madison and Brooklynn Green of Gillette, Wyoming; brothers, Leo (Pat Buterbaugh Jr. of Wakefield, Virginia, Chuck Buterbaugh of Worland, Wyoming, and Dave Buterbaugh of Beaumont, Texas; sisters: Deb Fogle of Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Beth (Jeff) Scott of Liverpool, New York; aunt, Flo Stiffler of Brownsville, Texas; niece, Cammy Buterbaugh of Cody, Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania, New York and Texas.She was preceded in death by her grandparents.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Tess's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
