Memorial services for Loren Jackson will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Sonja Brucklacher officiating. Mr. Jackson, age 61, of Gillette, Wyoming died at his home on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at his home of apparent heart complications.Loren Edward Jackson was born on October 6, 1946 in Alliance, Nebraska the son of Edward and Lorena (Inman) Jackson. He was raised and educated in Alliance where he attended local schools graduating in 1964 from Alliance High School. Upon his graduation he attended Chadron State University where he earned his degree in education. He accepted his first teaching job at Campbell County High School moving him to Gillette, Wyoming in 1968. Loren continued working toward his masters earning his masters in business education from the University of Wyoming in 1970. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and upon the completion of basic training he worked at the Army National Guard Armory in Rapid City, South Dakota. After a year he returned to Gillette and continued a 39 year career teaching at Twin Spruce Junior High. On April 25, 1975 he married his best friend, Pamela Matulovich in Sturgis, South Dakota, at the Fort Meade Chapel. Alongside teaching he coached wrestling, football and girls basketball, touching the lives of numerous athletes. Loren enjoyed his summers painting with his friends the "Drip Brothers", painting countless homes in the Gillette area. Loren retired from Campbell County School District in May of 2007. He was looking forward to his retirement spending more time with his wife and grandkids. Loren was handy, remodeling his homes in Lead and Gillette in his spare time. He enjoyed their home in the Black Hills, four wheeling, snowmobiling and golfing with his wife. Grateful to have shared in his life are his wife, Pam Jackson of Gillette, Wyoming; mother, Lorena Jackson of Alliance, Nebraska; 3 sons: Fred (Jennifer) Jackson of Holbrook, Arizona, Michael Jackson and Frank Jackson both of San Diego, California; 2 grandchildren: Brooke and Dakota; sister, Janet (Gregg) Luebe of Mitchell, Nebraska; 3 nephews and 1 niece.He was preceded in death by his father, Edward, grandparents and father in law, Frank.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Loren's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
