A Celebration of Life for Stewart Gene Eastham will be at 7 p.m. on February 4, 2008 at the Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Marty Crump from the Family Life Church officiating. A gathering and time of fellowship will take place one hour prior and following the service at the funeral home. Please email a favorite memory, tribute or story about Stewart to be shared at the service to walkerfh@collinscom.netStewart, 26, died with his family and friends by his side on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, Colorado where he had been for three months following a bone marrow transplant.A funeral service and burial has taken place in Hamlin, West Virginia.Stewart Gene Eastham, known to his family and friends as "Stew", was born on December 8, 1981, the son of Harold and Paula Eastham in Cabel, West Virginia. He attended high school at Guyan High School, where he played football and was chosen all county guard. Stewart graduated high school in 2000 and after graduation Stewart and his brother Harold rode a bus to Gillette, Wyoming for work. He was employed by M&M Oilfield Service where he met and became friends with his many co-workers.Stewart enjoyed playing Frisbee golf, watching football, and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. Going to Deadwood and playing Texas Hold 'Em with his family were some of his favorite things and he also enjoyed watching the stock car races, spending time with his friends, hearing "Sienna" stories and he loved good food.He was a strong young man that took the ups and downs he endured with cancer with stride. When Stewart would get treatments or check-ups, whether in Gillette or Denver; the nurses and doctors became close to Stewart and they became his friends too. Stewart is survived by his parents of West Hamlin, W. VA.; one brother, Harold Eastham of Pennsylvania; one sister, Star Eastham of West Virginia and his adopted mother, Pam Thomas and family of Gillette, Wyoming. A memorial has been established in Stewart's name to Brent's Place, 1129 East 17th Ave., Denver, CO 80218, Attn: Krista.
