Graveside memorial services for Alfred L. Meads will be held at a later date in Nezperce, Idaho.Alfred Meads, age 70, of Gillette, Wyoming formerly of Newberg, Oregon died of natural causes on Monday, January 14, 2008 at his home in Gillette.Alfred Meads was born on July 3, 1937 the son of Reginald and Alice (Mortensen) Meads in Gould, Colorado. He was raised and educated in NW Oregon and Idaho. Upon the completion of his education he enlisted in the United States Army. During his enlistment in the Army he became disabled. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Idaho where he worked as a truck driver. In October 1962 Alfred moved to Yamhill, Oregon where he worked as a roofer. In the early 70's he came to western Wyoming living for several years until moving back to Oregon in the mid 80?s working as a truck driver. In 2000 he moved to Nezperce, Idaho where he remained until coming to Gillette in February 2007. Hardworking Alfred did not have much time for hobbies when time allowed. Alfred enjoyed racing stock cars, bowling and instilling his love for model trains to his children.Alfred is survived by his sons, Jim Meads of Gillette, Wyoming and Glen Meads of Lafayette, Oregon; sisters: Ethel Drapeau of Post Falls, Idaho, and Wilma Carter of Oregon; 2 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughter all of Oregon.He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: David, Joe and John.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Alfred's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
