A memorial service for Betty J. Hollenbeck will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Crump of the Family Life Church officiating. Mrs. Hollenbeck, age 75, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.Betty Hollenbeck was born January 30, 1932 the daughter of William and Mildred (Kaufman) Dickerson in Dacono, Colorado. Betty?s father worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, and the family moved throughout Colorado. She married William Morrison Sr. in September of 1948. They made there home in Carr, Colorado and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1957. To this union three children were born, William Jr., Mary and Sandra. They later divorced. In August of 1968 she married Elmer Hollenbeck. They lived one year in New Castle, Wyoming. In July of 1969 Elmer's job with the State of Wyoming brought them to Gillette, Wyoming. Betty was employed with the Televents as a bookkeeper for many years. When Elmer retired they split there time in Gillette and Quartzite, Arizona. One of their favorite things to do in Arizona was when a whole bunch of them would get together and go out to the desert for a Hobo Stew. She was an avid toile painter, crotchetier, and quilter. She loved to teach painting and quilting, and she traveled all over to take classes. Betty is survived by her son; William (Liz) Morrison Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughters: Mary (Rollie) Tatum of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Sandra (Rick) Halbrook of Gillette, Wyoming and Paula (Jim) Wilson of Wheatland, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, son Topper, granddaughter Wendy, one sister, one brother and her parents.Memorials are suggested to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
