Mel Melick

Funeral services for LaRue "Mel" Melick will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Harper of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., January 17, 2008 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Mel Melick, age 77, former Gillette, Wyoming resident passed away on January 2, 2008 at his home in Pavilion, New York of natural causes.Mel was born on December 10, 1930 the son of Fred and Grace (Gahaggen) Melick. He loved his family, friends and pets. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and many other outdoor activities.Mel is survived by his 2 sons: Casey (Sonja) Melick and Mark (Karen) Melick all of Gillette, Wyoming; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson all of Gillette, Wyoming.He was preceded in death by his wives: Betty Lou and Dorothy, parents, grandparents, and 2 young daughters.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Mel's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
