Celebration of Life and Loss of Bryan J. Coates will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Barrett Norris as Celebrant. The family is requesting that casual clothing be worn to the service to honor Bryan's wishes.Upon his request, he will be cremated and his cremated remains will be scattered in one of his favorite places at a later date.Bryan Coates, age 39, passed away at his home in Gillette, Wyoming on Tuesday, October 23, 2007.Bryan Joseph Coates was born on January 3, 1968 the son of Jim and Theresa (Coates) Moore at Prince Georges County, Maryland. He was raised and educated in Maryland. At the age of sixteen, Bryan started his work career. Bryan was a hard worker and very dependable. For ten years, Bryan worked for Curtis Engine. While working on a county project an oil leak occurred that led to a large fire, Bryan aided the firefighters in locating the main shut off valves. For this he received an accommodation for heroic action from the Upper Marlboro community. Bryan married Kim Marie Smith on March 20, 1989 at Prince Fredrick, Maryland. In 2001 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where Bryan was employed and worked in several departments, recently as a pumper for Western Gas Resources/Anadarko. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club, a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and contributed to the Wyoming Wildlife Fund .Besides hunting , hunting and more hunting Bryan enjoyed hiking, scouting, the out of doors, elk hunting, shed antler hunting, motorcycles, ATV, farming gardening, working out, and jogging. When Bryan wasn't hunting, he was a handyman that could fix or build anything. He was proud of his daughter, Bryana, and enjoyed the times spent with family and friends.Bryan is survived by his wife, Kim Coates and daughter Bryana Cheyenne Coates of Gillette, Wyoming, his parents, Jim and Theresa Moore of North Beach, Maryland, his sister, Antoinette Blair of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his grandfather Woodro "Woody" Wilkinson, his grandparents Anna and Walter Magera, his step-father, Eddie Wilkinson, an uncle, Tom Magera and cousins, John Bizet and Kevin Lutes.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Bryan's daughter and can be made to the Bryana Coates Memorial Fund.
