Memorial services for Michael Ray Hankinson, age 51, of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Morel of the Family Life Church officiating. A second memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Belgrade Fire Hall in Belgrade, Montana with Pastor John Swanson officiating.Michael Ray Hankinson (Radar) was born on October 3, 1955 in Bozeman, Montana the son of James E. Hankinson and Violet Wagner. Entering into his long journey home he passed on September 26, 2007. Mike spent his youth in Belgrade, Montana. In 1975, he moved to Alaska for a short period of time he then moved back to Montana and married Debra M. Armstrong in March of 1977. After 24 years of marriage they divorced. He joined the Army National Guard on August 27, 1978, and continued until an honorable discharge on October 23, 1989. Valier, Montana is where the couple choose to live with their family until 1984 when he moved all of them to Mt. View, Wyoming. Then in 1987, the family moved to and resided in the Gillette, Wyoming area. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends: camping, fishing, and enjoying all the outdoors had to offer. Everyone enjoyed being around Mike because of his sense of humor and his calming nature. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Hankinson.Grateful to have shared in his life are his children: Amy (Orson) Barney of Roosevelt, Utah, Shane Hankinson of Gillette, Wyoming, Dusty (Priscilla) Hankinson of Phillipsburg, Kansas, and Joshua (Yasmin) Hankinson of Carina, Iowa; mother, Violet Hankinson of Billings, Montana; brothers, Jim (Debbie) Hankinson of Alliance, Nebraska, John (Mary) Hankinson of Helena, Montana, Bob (Deb) Hankinson of Belgrade, Montana, and Joe Hankinson of Billings, Montana; sisters, Pat (Rick) Dykstra of Bozeman, Montana, and Bev (Mick) Galic Soldotna, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family members and friends.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Mike's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
