Carolyn Swenson

Funeral services for Carolyn Swenson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Sonja Brucklacher of Prince of Peace Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Carolyn Swenson, age 69, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Carolyn was born on December 24, 1937 the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Mitzel) Wilhelm in Billings, Montana. While she was growing up her family moved around the northwest of the United States doing several jobs; they always found their way back to Montana. In 1954, Carolyn married Thomas E. Price Sr. and they had two sons, Tom and Kem. They lived in Billings, Montana and raised their family. Several years after her first marriage ended, Carolyn met Wesley Swenson Sr. and they were married on November 29, 1970 in Lovell, Wyoming. They had a son, Wesley Jr., and enjoyed raising him together. After living in Lovell for several years they moved their family to St. Xavier, Montana where they owned and operated several businesses. Carolyn enjoyed raising her son, gardening, canning vegetables and fruits, and pure bred collie pups. She had a true zest for life and was a vibrant personality in all of her family member?s lives. In 1978 they moved to Ashland, Montana where she and her husband worked for a coal mine. In 1984, they came to Wyoming, living in Gillette, then Sheridan, and finally returning to Gillette to make it their home. Carolyn was known for being an excellent house keeper and being a wonderful down home cook. Carolyn enjoyed being a mother but also worked as a waitress for many years. She enjoyed meeting people. She had a following of regular customers that would follow her to any of the restaurants where she worked. Carolyn collected signature plates and had a large collection of Disney movies for her grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley music and dancing. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Wesley Sr. of Gillette, Wyoming; sons: Tom (Sandy) Price of Gillette, Wyoming, Kem (Kim) Price of Sheridan, Wyoming and Wesley Jr. (Amy) Swenson of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren: Brandon Price of Gillette, Wyoming, Allen (Jessica) Price of Sheridan, Wyoming, Heather (Lorin) Bergman of San Diego, California, and Misti (Matt) Hard of Lansing, Michigan; great grandchildren: Megan, Allen, Olivia and Bridgette; nephew, Alvin; niece, Twyla. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
