Mass of Christian Burial for Marie R. McCreery will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2007 at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church with Father Philip Vaske officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2007 with a vigil/rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.Mrs. McCreery, age 91, of Gillette, Wyoming died at Campbell County Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 17, 2007 of natural causes.Marie McCreery was born on April 5, 1916, at their ranch home south of Gillette, Wyoming the daughter of Bert and Genevieve (Powers) Rohan. She spent her childhood and received her education in Gillette. Marie attended Barnes School of Business in Denver, Colorado, and worked as a secretary in Gillette, Douglas and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Marie married Robert P. ?Pat? McCreery on June 30, 1940, in Gillette, Wyoming and continued working in Cheyenne until 1944. The couple engaged in ranching on the Rohan Ranch in November 1945, becoming McCreery Ranch by purchase in January of 1984. Marie is survived by her husband, Pat McCreery of Gillette, Wyoming; daughters, Mary Alice Law of Rapid City, South Dakota and Maggi McCoy of Gillette, Wyoming; sons: Michael McCreery of Mineral Wells, Texas, Kelley McCreery of Gillette, Wyoming, and Paul McCreery of Buffalo, Wyoming; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death her parents, brother, Tom, and 1 grandchild, in infancy.A memorial has been established in her name to benefit the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
