Memorial Service for Lottie Ella (Ellwein) Boehler will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 21, 2007 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Isabel, South Dakota with Pastor Chris Sulzle officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot in Hillview Cemetery.Lottie Boehler died Saturday, September 15, 2007 of natural causes at her home in Gillette. She was 92 years old.Lottie Boehler was born November 13, 1914 on a farm five miles west of Hosmer, SD the daughter of Ben and Philippina (Miller) Ellwein. She attended a small country school there until the age of 12 and then moved with her parents west of the Missouri River to a farm ten miles south of Firesteel, SD. She finished grade school at the "Cundill School" and attended three years of high school at Firesteel. She finished her last year of high school at Selby, SD and graduated as Salutatorian of her class in 1933.On November 21, 1937 she was united in marriage to Philip Boehler at Peace Lutheran Church at Isabel, SD. After their marriage they lived in Laplant, SD. In 1943, after Pearl Harbor, they moved to Tacoma, Washington. The next year they moved to Laplant, SD to a small farm. They lived there until 1959 when they moved to Timber Lake, SD. In 1994 Lottie moved to Belle Fourche, SD to be near family and in 1996 she moved to Gillette, WY to be near her daughter and family. She resided there in the Pioneer Manor Apartments until her death on September 15, 2007.Lottie was a very active member of the churches she attended, and the Ladies Aides of those churches. She was an active Extension Club member in both Isabel and Timber Lake for 47 years. She was also a member of the Garden Club, Embroidery Club, Jet Set and Birthday Club. She served as officer many time for all of these clubs. She felt this was a way to help her community and meet the people that were apart of it.Lottie was an avid reader and was the Substitute Librarian at the Timber Lake Library for several years. In later years she was and active member of the Timber Lake Senior Citizens and served on the Board of Directors of the North Central Senior Services for twelve years.Lottie liked to sew, crochet, quilt and read. She also helped her husband, who was a carpenter, finish woodwork in the houses he was building and sis the bookkeeping for his business. Her family and her religion were most important to her and we will all miss her.Lottie is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Boehler, her parents, two sisters, Gertrude and Dolores, two brothers, H.O. and Ben and one grandson , Rance Boehler.She is survived by one brother, Harry (Lola) Ellwein of Hot Springs, SD, two sisters-in-law, Elva Ellwein of Mobridge, SD and Opal Ellwein of Tacoma, WA and her four children, Mahlon (Bonny) Boehler of Elko, NV Sharon (Boehler) Jackson of Eureka Springs, AK, Larry (Charleen) Boehler of Las Vegas, NV and Frances (Willard) Guffey of Gillette, WY. She is also survived by eight grandsons, one granddaughter and fifteen great-grandchildren.A memorial has been established in Mrs. Boehler name and condolences may be sent to Walker Funeral Home at 410 Medical Arts Ct, Gillette, Wyoming, 82716 or via the internet at www.walkerfuneralgillette.com
