Mass of Christian Burial for Lou Weisser will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2007 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Philip Vaske officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #42. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with a prayer / vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m.Lou Weisser, age 83, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at his home of natural causes.Luverne Leo Weisser, known to his family and friends, as Lou was born on August 13, 1924 in Melrose, Minnesota the son of Fritz and Marion (Schnieder) Weisser. He was raised and educated in Melrose. Upon his graduation he entered the United States Army, serving in Italy for 4 years. Upon his honorable discharge he moved to Billings, Montana where he worked as an appliance salesman and also installing flooring. After learning the trade he started his own business which became his life long career. On August 14, 1950 Lou married Betty Earley in Billings. The couple resided in the Billings area until 1966 when they moved to Broadus, Montana where he continued his floor covering business as well as operating Sagebrush Market with his wife until retiring in 1995. The couple then moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near family. Lou enjoyed woodworking and vegetable gardening. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Matthew's Catholic Church and a past member of the St. David Catholic Church in Broadus, Montana.Lou is survived by his daughter, Kay Mork of Cody, Wyoming; 3 sons: Scott (Peggy) Weisser of Gillette, Wyoming, Rick (Sara) Weisser of Belgrade, Montana, and Mark (Lynn) Wessier of Fredrick, Colorado; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Gene Weisser of Minnesota, and Elmer Weisser of South Dakota; 2 sisters: Elvina Roggenbuck of Billings, Montana, Mildred Bruska of Kalispell, Montana, and numerous nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, nine siblings and one grandson.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Lou's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
