A mass of christian burial for Amelia Gonzales Flores will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2007 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Philip Vaske officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.Amelia Flores, age 75, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Amelia Gonzales Flores was born on October 19, 1931 in Campwood, Texas the daughter of Vincenta and Catarina (Ruiz) Gonzales. As a young woman Amelia was a hard worker owning a snow cone business, being a homemaker, and a great cook. She soon met the love of her life Leopoldo Flores, soon after they married in 1954. The couple soon after had a son, Arnold Arthur Flores Sr. and later a daughter, Alda Ema Banda. Amelia had a great reputation in the community of developing a small business in cooking, ceramics, crafts and knitting to provide for others. She also loved to garden and take visits to Deadwood, South Dakota visiting Tin Lizzy's casino where she was well known. Amelia led a life of being with family and friends. Having her grandchildren and great grandchildren come to visit her and to smother her in laughs, hugs, and kisses was always heartwarming and a cherished moment. Amelia enjoyed playing poker and bingo with family and friends to keep her busy while her husband and son were working. Amelia is survived by her son, Arnold; daughter, Alda; brother, Arturo; sisters: Guadalupe, Cuellar and Elvira Flores; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 brother, Vincente Gonzales, sister, Santos Castro and great grandchild, Jacob Linn Flores.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Amelia's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
