William James "Jim" Donald, 69, died August 6, 2007 peacefully at his home in Gillette, Wyoming. Jim was born December 10, 1937 to William and Ethel (Dienstel) Donald in Belle Fourche, South Dakota where he attended school and graduated with his friends, the class of 1955. Jim joined the U.S. Army shortly after graduation then returned to Belle Fourche where he married Caren Herman in June 1959. Jim and Caren had four beautiful daughters. They later divorced and Jim married Charrie Brennen in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1979. Jim worked all throughout the Midwest as a lineman for several different electric companies until he retired in 2003. Jim was a fisherman, hunter and a storyteller. He was a friend to everyone he met. He had an enthusiasm about people. Jim could go anywhere and find someone he knew or knew of. Jim had a wonderful memory and was the family historian. He could remember all the details that the rest of us forgot. He filled in the forgotten spaces of family history and will be very much missed for that talent. Jim was always so proud and amazed with his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. He was the favorite uncle to all of his nephews and nieces. They all loved him so. Jim was the best father, best brother and friend anyone could ask for and he will be so missed.He is survived by his daughters, Lorrie (Dave) Arner of Phoenix, Arizona; Pamala (Allen) Ketchum of Rapid City, South Dakota; Debra Haney of Phoenix, Arizona and Peggy (Mike) Jelenie of Phoenix, Arizona, Stepchildren Mike Brennen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Vincent Brennen of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Francine Dea of Erda, Utah; Melanie Medina of Tooele, Utah; six grandchildren, one great grandchild and eight step grandchildren, sisters, Elaine Snider of Martinsville, Indiana, Patricia Chaffee of Kokomo, Indiana and Liz Herman of Belle Fourche, South Dakota and numerous nieces and nephews.Jim is preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Donald, his sister Marcella Moore and his brother Jonathan.A Graveside Gathering will be on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineslope Cemetery in the Dienstel/Donald plot. A potluck lunch will follow at Herrmann Park in Belle Fourche.
