Funeral services for Kathleen M. Petersen will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel in Pioneer Manor Nursing Home with Sue Todd as celebrant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette has been entrusted with the arrangements.Kathleen Mamie Petersen, age 78, of Gillette, Wyoming died Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.Kathleen Mamie was born on December 15, 1928 the daughter of Chet and Mamie (Howe) Collingwood in Greybull, Wyoming. She was raised and educated in the Greybull and Lovell areas. Kathleen graduated from Lovell High School in 1947. Upon her schooling she married Seth "Pete" Petersen on October 1, 1949 in Powell, Wyoming. Making their home in Lovell, Kathleen's primary focus was her family. Raising her kids and caring for their home was how she spent her days. In 1969 the family moved to Gillette, Wyoming for work. When their youngest child entered high school, she went to work outside of the home at Decker's Food working in the deli. In 1988 Kathleen and Pete retired. She loved to crochet, making numerous baby clothes and afghans for all of her family and friends. Kathleen was a great gardener, raising all sorts of produce to can and feed her family. She was a true homemaker, a great wife, and nothing pleased her more than taking care of Pete. She was a wonderful grandmother and made it a point to be active in their everyday lives helping with their parents in anyway she could.She is survived by her children: Melvin (Leslie) Petersen, Miles (Janet) Petersen, Debbie (Bruce) Williams all of Gillette, Wyoming and Gwen (Steve) Ficken of Friendswood, Texas; brothers: Leroy (Hannah) Collingwood of Byron, Wyoming and Chet (Karen) Collingwood of El Paso, Texas; sisters: Norma Graham of Lovell, Wyoming and Florence (Duane) Potter of Columbus, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Eilert and 1 daughter, Nicolette.Memorials are suggested to benefit the Bingo Fund at Pioneer Manor.
