Funeral Service for Donnie Carroll Worthington, Jr. will be at 2 pm Friday August 10, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Gillette, Wyoming. Pastor Randy Blakeman of Cornerstone Ministries of Moorcroft will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Moorcroft Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Thursday August 9, 2007 at the Walker Funeral Home.Donnie Worthington, Jr., age 54, died at his home in Gillette on Saturday August 4, 2007 of natural causes.Donnie Carroll Worthington, Jr. was born October 22, 1952 in Douglas, Wyoming the son of Don C. and Fern (Cluck) Worthington, Sr. When Donnie was five his family moved to Moorcroft, Wyoming where he attended school until he graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1971. Donnie worked for True Drilling Company as a roughneck then went to work as a security guard for a local coal mine for a short time. For the last twenty-seven years he has been employed with Weatherford International.Donnie played football in High School and enjoyed Bowling. His many friends and co-workers always had good things to say about Donnie. He was a loyal friend and worker. In his youth he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Donnie was a firearms enthusiast and loved his time alone. All class reunions in Moorcroft were a highlight for him.Donnie is survived by his sister Etta Marie Pearce of Moorcroft, Wyoming.Donnie is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathryn Pearce.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Ministries in Moorcroft, Wyoming.
