Doris Schuman

A memorial service for Doris M. Schuman will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.Doris Schuman, age 89, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away at Campbell County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 2, 2007 of natural causes.Doris was born on March 13, 1918 in Verona, North Dakota the daughter of Emil and Louise (Pooch) Raatz. She attended schools in the Vernoa area. Doris married Ernest Schuman on October 5, 1936 and lived on a farm north of Oakes, North Dakota for many years. The couple had three children and later divorced. Doris moved to Lisbon, North Dakota in 1973 and worked at Kelsen's Bakery and then at Lisbon Community Hospital until she retired. In 1997 she moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near her daughter and family. Most recently she resided at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette. Doris is survived by her daughter, Judy Shook of Gillette, Wyoming; 2 sons: Harvey Schuman of Oakes, North Dakota and Michael Schuman of Tampa, Florida; brother, Richard Raatz of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; 2 sisters: Verda Roehr of Britton, South Dakota and Alice Pedersen of Fargo, North Dakota; 2 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; and 2 great granddaughters.She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Raatz and a sister, Helen Brenden.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Doris's name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
