A memorial service for Margie Simpson will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2007 at Westside Baptist Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. To reflect Margie's fun loving personality her family requests that picnic attire be worn to the service.Ms. Simpson, age 61, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of cancer.Margie Sue was born on September 20, 1945 in Abilene, Texas the daughter of Calvin and Bea (Fowler) Brashears. She was raised and educated in Artesia, New Mexico. Margie graduated in 1964 from Santa Fe High School. Prior to her graduation, she married Brian Foulkes 1963. After her schooling the couple moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a brief time. Margie moved to Washington where she attended the University of Washington graduating with a masters degree in child psychology in 1970. Upon her graduation she worked for the state of Washington as a program coordinator and developer for drug abused and physically abused children as well as a social worker for Tulalip Indian Reservation. In 1975 she came to Gillette to be near her parents, working as a pumper in the oilfield, at Ryan Equipment and the Campbell County Court House. She met and married Loren Simpson on November 24, 1978. The couple made their home in Gillette. In 1979 Margie became Clerk of Court a position she held until 1987. She then went to work for HPC until it closed and then Enron until 1991. Margie started MTM Temp service in 1993 which she owned and operated until 2003. It was then she retired due to her health. Margie loved to travel all over the United States and abroad to Germany, Holland and France. Margie's primary focus was her grandkids, she attended every activity she could and especially enjoyed the sporting events. She loved caring for them at every opportunity presented. Margie was a big University of Wyoming Cowboys fan and also enjoyed reading and flower gardening. Margie is survived by her son, Todd (Rita) Foulkes of Laramie, Wyoming; daughter, Kim ("Goose") Goostree of Gillette, Wyoming; son, Jason (Kristi) Foster of Camano Island, Washington sister, Linda Kay (Richard) Wood of Longview, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Tyler Foulkes of Casper, Wyoming, Garrett Goostree and Jack Goostree both of Gillette, Wyoming, Chad Foster and Kelsey Foster both of Camano Island, Washington.She was preceded in death by her parents.In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to benefit the Campbell County Jr. Football Association or the Gillette Hockey Association.
