Funeral service for Dennis Leonard Solo, 69, of Gillette will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Chad Brucklacher officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in International Falls, Minnesota.Dennis Solo died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at his home in Rozet, Wyoming of natural causes. Dennis was born on September. 7, 1937 the son of Halvdan and Selma (Boquist) Solo in Manitou, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in International Falls and graduated from high school in 1956. After graduation Dennis worked from 1956-1977 for the Paul Lawrence Construction Company in Minnesota.Dennis was united in marriage January 9, 1958 to Carole (Kucera) in International Falls, Minnesota. He owned and operated a home construction company from 1977 to 1981.The family moved to Wyoming in 1981 and Dennis worked for various construction companies at the time of the construction of the Campbell County Memorial Hospital and the Camplex. Dennis retired from the construction business in 2001. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church; His passion for construction was still evident in his retirement years by being a jack of all trades, helping family and friends with building garages and landscaping projects. Dennis was an accomplished accordion player, enjoyed volunteering his time to special events and he enjoyed volunteering at the Soup Kitchen. Dennis?s happiest time was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Dennis is survived by his wife Carole of Rozet, Wyoming and children, Mrs. Doug (Laurie) Pennington of Lakeville, Minnesota, Mrs. Scott (Brenda) Kilber of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Daniel Solo & Tammy of Falcon, Colorado; his eight grandchildren Luke Pennington, Adam Kilber, Erica Hight, April Pennington, Paul Pennington, Alexandra Solo, Daniel Solo, and Lily Solo; and two step grandchildren, Amanda Moeller and Lance Heisler, his three great-grandchildren, Deegan Hight, Hayden Moeller, and Halle Moeller. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Halvdan and Selma Solo, a daughter Tamera (Solo) Pennington and his 8 siblings, Mrs. David (Eileen) Sampson, Lyle Solo, Gerald Solo, Mrs. L.D.
