Funeral services for Robert ?Bob? McCue will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Harper of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Robert Aurist McCue, age 77, of Buffalo, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital after having surgery and a long courageous battle with diabetes. Bob was born on July 19, 1929, the son of J.A. ?Aurist? and Helen (Likewise) McCue in Gillette, Wyoming. He was raised on the family homestead at Middle Prong, and attended country schools around Arvada and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1948. Bob was drafted into the United States Army, but the Marines were looking for a few good men. He served as a Marine during the Korean War on the front lines for 18 months and as a military policeman in Bremerton, Washington until 1953. He then returned to the family ranch. In 1954, he married Darlene ?Swede? Curtis, and to this marriage they had three children and two grandchildren. They bought an irrigated ranch at Leiter, Wyoming, where they ranched, farmed and raised their family until 1999. Due to Bob?s failing health, they sold the ranch and moved to Buffalo where they currently reside. Bob served as a board member to the Sheridan County Weed and Pest Board, Pratt and Ferris Ditch Company, Cadiz Corporation, and FFA Clear Creek Chapter. He volunteered as a fireman for the Arvada-Leiter-Clearmont area. Bob enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing, working with cattle and horses on the ranch, elk and moose hunting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene ?Swede? McCue of Buffalo, Wyoming; 3 children: Robert R. McCue of Buffalo, Wyoming, Catherine (Brent) Nielsen of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Debra McCue of Gillette, Wyoming; 2 grandchildren: Brittany McCue of Gillette, Wyoming and Tyler McCue of Gillette, Wyoming; 2 brothers: Richard McCue of Moorcroft, Wyoming and James McCue of Gillette, Wyoming; 1 sister, Thelma Dexter of Gillette, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Marion and baby Barbara Joy, 2 brothers, George and Donald McCue.In lieu of flowers donations may be made on behalf of Robert to the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Dialysis Unit.
