Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph ?Joe? John Green, age 24, of Casper, Wyoming will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at Saint Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Father Philip Vaske officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. The Walker Funeral Home Chapel will be open for visitation on Thursday, June 14, from 3:00 p.m. -7:00p.m. A vigil service will be held directly afterward.Joe died Saturday, June 9th 2007 in a boating accident at the Alcova Reservoir in Casper, Wyoming . Joe was born in June of 1982, to parents Keith and Nanette (Boyd) Green both of Gillette. He was raised in Gillette, where he attended school and graduated from Campbell County High School in 2000. Joe loved to wrestle; he began wrestling at five years old with the Touch of Gold Wrestling Club and continued to wrestle with the Campbell County High School team. In the Touch of Gold he won the state championship in freestyle at fifteen. In his junior year of high school he placed 3rd at sixteen years old those were just two of the numerous awards he won throughout his wrestling career. Joe's love of sports continued when he moved to Casper, his most recent venture included playing on a softball team. While living in Casper he worked for Howard?s Inspection Services, as a drill inspector, along with various other positions in the methane field. His black dodge truck was his pride and joy, his imagination never stopped when it came to his "next upgrade". Joe enjoyed fishing, camping, hanging with friends and attending sporting events. He had so many friends and always a willingness to make new ones, his smile was a tribute to everyone he knew Joe was very close to his family, there was nothing he wouldn?t do for his family and friends. Joe is survived by his parents Keith and Nanette Green, both of Gillette, Wyoming , his older brother, Curtis Green of Lakewood, Colorado; older sister, Stephanie Green, of Casper, Wyoming ; grandparents, Leo Green of Mina, South Dakota; Dolores Green of Aberdeen, South Dakota; Delbert and Jerry Boyd of Sturgis, South Dakota; great grandmother Ione Green; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Clifford Green, Casper and Mary Benfit and Anne Lilke.A memorial has been established in Joe?s name.
