Dennis Murphy

Funeral services for Robert Dennis Murphy will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Peggy Brown of the 1st Presbyterian Church officiating. Mr. Murphy, age 59, of Gillette, Wyoming died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at his home of heart related illness.He was born January 26, 1948, in Los Angeles County, California the son of Kenneth and Virginia (Griguar) Murphy. Dennis was raised and educated in Los Angeles. He moved to Arizona, where he met and worked with his future wife. Dennis married Pamela Carlson on September 2, 1978, in Nevada. They later moved to Lead, South Dakota where he worked for the Homestake Mine. In 1987 they moved to Spearfish, South Dakota, and then to Gillette, Wyoming in 1997, where he resided at the time of his death. While in Gillette he worked as a realtor. Dennis was a member of the Eagles. His hobby was cooking; his specialty was Mexican food and cheesecake. He is survived by four sons: Charles Murphy, Dennis Murphy, Eric Murphy, and John Murphy all of Gillette, Wyoming; six brothers and two sisters.Dennis was preceded in death by his wife and parents.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Dennis?s name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
