Robert Auvil, age 79, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming of natural causes. Private cremation service has taken place, upon his wishes there will be no other services. Robert Willington Auvil was born May 6, 1928 the son of Zora (Marstiller) and Harry K. Auvil in Norton, West Virginia. Robert was raised and educated in West Virginia. He worked in the coal mines in West Virginia until his early twenties when he moved to Butte, Montana to work in the copper mines. In 1950 Robert married Delores Rule in Butte, Montana; they had two daughters, and one son. They later divorced. Robert married Harriet Hofbauer in Salmon, Idaho on August 1, 1964, they had one son. They moved to Bishop, California in the 1960?s where they lived for several years while Robert worked in the mines until they were closed in the early 1980?s. They moved back to Butte where he was employed as a city bus driver for ten years before retiring in the 1990?s. Robert loved his yard work he had a perfect lawn and liked to mow his grass and keep his sidewalk shoveled. He liked to watch football and took pride in his cars he enjoyed buying a new car every year. He loved to visit with his family and made many special trips to visit them. Robert moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near his family, he resided with his daughter, Roberta, until he moved to Pioneer Manor due to health reasons.Robert is survived by his son, Robert ?Bobby? (Sue) Auvil of Poulsbo, Washington; his daughters, Connie (Frank) Padrotti and Roberta (George) Staschel of Gillette, Wyoming; two stepsons, Doug (Julie) Dunaway of Nevada and Tom (Patty) Salisgiver of Montana; two step daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Paulson of New Mexico and Leslie (Lucky) Peterson of Oklahoma; one sister Ruby Anderson of California; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, both spouses, son, Joe Auvil, stepson, Scott Swingley, brother, Harry Auvil and great grandson, Stevie Campbell.
