Memorial services for Dorothy Whitmore, will be held 7:00 p.m. in the evening, Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette. Interment will be in the Missoula City Cemetery in Missoula Montana. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00 ? 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.Mrs. Whitmore age 53, of Gillette, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Deaconess Billings Clinic from complications of a severe infection.Dorothy Jean Whitmore was born May 9, 1954 in Kalispell, Montana the daughter of Gordon and Doris Whitmore. She was raised and educated in Butte, Montana graduating from Butte High School in 1972. She then attended Stephens College in Missouri graduating in 1976 earning her Teaching Certificate. She began teaching in Filer, Idaho. In the fall of 1982 she began teaching at Twin Spruce Jr. High. She taught and coached volleyball and track in several Campbell County schools until her passing, she was currently teaching at the Wright High School. Dorothy enjoyed playing golf when she was in better health and had a love for animals particularly her rottwieler dogs.Dorothy is survived by brothers: Mike (Kay) Whitmore of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Glen (Jodi) Whitmore of Great Falls, Montana, Don (Cindy) Whitmore of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and her nieces and nephews Will, Tracy, Chris, Shannon, Amiee, Ben, Lora, Kerrie and Jessica. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials in Dorothy?s name are suggested to benefit the City of Gillette ? Campbell County Animal Shelter.
