Funeral services for Deborah Monteith Richards, age 54, of Gillette, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the Family Life Church in Gillette with Pastor Martin Crump officiating. Interment will follow in Gillette?s Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette. Deborah died on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette.Deborah Sue was born on May 8, 1952 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of Dale and Barbara (Kline) Shields. She was raised and educated in New Concord, Ohio graduating from John Glenn High School in 1970 and later from the Zanesville Community College with an Associates Degree. Upon her schooling she was married and began her family. As a young mother she spent her time raising her children in New Concord and staying active as a 4-H advisor, member of Xi Delta Theta Social Sorority New Concord Mother?s Club and as the Choir Director at her Church. Debbie worked for more than twenty-five years in the petroleum industry. The last several years she worked as an Independent Petroleum Land Man, working in the eastern and western part of the United States. In 2001 she came to Gillette where she has resided since. Debbie enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening as well as camping in the mountains with family and friends. She had a great love for her horses that she raised on her land in Wyoming and Montana. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Otsego, Ohio and currently attending Family Life Church in Gillette. Debbie is survived by her beloved husband at heart, Victor Richards of Gillette and his children and grandchildren and many extended members of the Richards family; her children: Valerie S. Cincinat of Zanesville, Ohio, Jeremy T. (Leah) Wharton of Los Angeles, California and Wendy L. (Dave) Shaw of Chandlersville, Ohio; grandchildren: Jessica Mehaffey, Kyle Cincinat and Nathan Cincinat and Madison Shaw; 1 great-grandson, Bryer Barr, who completed the fifth generation.; mother, Barbara Shields Cavinee and step-father Berl Cavinee of Ostego, Ohio; father, F. Dale Shields of Gillette, Wyoming; brothers: Todd (Debbie) Shields, and Mike Shields; sister, Lori (Jerry) Brown; nieces: Jennifer Shields and Emily Brown; nephew, Eric Shields.She was preceded in death by her grandparents Wallace and Gertrude Kline and Forrest and Garnet Shields.
